2013 SNR Website Homepage

The School of Natural Resources website is being updated to a new layout and navigation. The emphasis is still on student recruitment, but less of the site is organized around the internal organization of faculty areas. The data, employee information and safety sections of the website will be updated at a later date. Hopefully the new website will be rolled out in the afternoon of July 8, 2013.

A few of the key changes that have been made include the navigation and the directories. Instead of changing the navigation (red bar near the top of the page) for different sections of the website, one navigation is used through the entire site. Secondary navigation is usually found on the page on the right-hand side (in a box that breaks the right boarder.) The 11 directory pages found throughout the old website have been replaced by a single webpage that allows the user to filter or search the directory. The directory now includes all faculty, staff and graduate students since many visitors from outside of the department may not know the classification of the person associated with SNR. Other examples of multiple pages in the old website that have been replaced by a single page with filters/searches include courses and student pages.

The faculty areas sections of the website have been replaced by a Research section. This section is still in need of information about current research projects being conducted by faculty, staff and students. If your project is not listed please let the SNR webmaster know. He will coordinate with the new communications person to work on developing a webpage or even a website to showcase your research.

The Profile pages have been updated and use the new Keyword feature that allow site visitors to find primary contacts as well as other people interested in the discipline. You can still update most of your other information via the website. Updated vitae still need to be submitted to the SNR webmaster.

If you find missing information, documents or errors in the new website please submit them to snrwebmaster@unl.edu using the subject line New SNR Website Updates.
