NET has developed a new NET Nebraska App for iPhone, iPad and Android devices to provide access to live and on-demand television, radio and digital content.

"The NET Nebraska app provides mobile access for essential news, sports, science and arts," said Mark Leonard, general manager for NET. "With mobile device use rapidly increasing, we know that Nebraskans consume media on-the-go and we've responded."

This new app organizes NET content into six sections: live, news, sports, arts and humanities, science and series. All sections are easily accessed as featured images rotate to display choices. Users can quickly discover a wide variety of news stories, documentaries, educational resources, podcasts and series including "Big Red Wrap-Up" and "Nebraska Stories."

According to Digiday, 2013, mobile now accounts for 12 percent of Americans' media consumption time — which is triple the percentage from 2009.

Traffic to NET's website via mobile device is at 18 percent, said Michelle Kosmicki, NET research manager.
