UNL's Love Library will host a free workshop on grantseeking for nonprofit organizations from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 28 in Love Library, Room 110. Kief Schladweiler, funding information network services specialist with the Foundation Center, will lead the sessions.

Schladweiler will highlight the library's electronic and print resources available for free use.

The workshop will provide an introduction to the world of foundation fundraising and will help people learn how to become better grantseekers.

The workshop will also cover the world of grantmakers, what people need to have in place before seeking a grant, the grantseeking process and available tools and resources. This session provides an introduction to the Foundation Center's comprehensive online database, Foundation Directory Online Professional. It will help teach people to create customized searches to develop targeted lists of foundations that will match an organization's funding needs.

Power Search will also be explored, which allows you to search across nine Foundation Center databases – grantmakers, grants, companies, 990s, news, jobs, RFPs, nonprofit literature and IssueLab reports.

Everyone is welcome to join. To guarantee a seat, however, Bob Bolin should be contacted at (402) 489-4926, or at rbolin2@unl.edu
