Andrei Snyman, doctoral student, received the 2015 Nebraska GIS/LIS Association Student Award. He was presented with the award at the 2015 Nebraska GIS Symposium, which took place April 14-16 in La Vista.

The award identifies GIS students or interns who have demonstrated excellence in GIS through innovative projects and or internships.

Snyman is a native South African whose research in Botswana focuses on studying the population dynamics of large carnivores like lions, leopards, spotted-and brown hyenas and African wild dogs. His research efforts have resulted in the recovery and steady growth of the resident lion population.
