Lindsey Messinger, hunter survey specialist, is one of ten early professionals selected to participate in The Wildlife Society Leadership Institute. She is a member of the Nebraska Chapter of the Wildlife Society and co-chair for the NETWS Information and Education Committee.

"The Leadership Institute is highly valued among alumni of the program and is well-supported by The Wildlife Society members," said Messinger. "Given the high value of this program, I was motivated to apply in hopes that my participation in the program would facilitate development of leadership skills that I can use as a professional and as a member of TWS."

The Leadership Institute program spans several months throughout the summer and fall and culminates at the annual meeting in October.

A committee of TWS members and staff selected participants based on the applicants' academic record, demonstrated leadership capability and demonstrated level of excellence either in their current position or in their position as a leader of a chapter or section of The Wildlife Society.

"I am looking forward to meeting and working with other early career professionals from various backgrounds and regions across the country who have similar experiences and long-term goals as myself," Messinger said. "I am also excited about developing relationships with Leadership Institute alumni and TWS council members who mentor institute participants throughout the program."
