UNL is partnering with Nebraska Wesleyan to support the Sept. 19 workshop "Teaching for Global Competencies: What are the Challenges and Opportunities?" It will explore and deepen understanding of 21st century competencies and engage professional dialogue.

In a globalization era, what constitutes “global competencies” in education? What understandings and professional skills will nurture educators' innovative growth and enhance student learning? Supported, in part, by a generous Humanities Nebraska grant, a cross-institutional professional development experience will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at Henzlik Hall on UNL's City Campus.

The workshop aims to reach a full range of educators; all grade levels and subject areas will find relevance.

The workshop is free, and a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
