The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration has expanded its GMAT Strategy Workshop from three to six hours. The workshop will be offered from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 and will again be led by Stephanie Espy, founder and president of Atlanta-based MathSP: Strategies and Problem-solving.

The workshop prepares prospective graduate students for the Graduate Management Admission Test, which measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills for graduate admission. Espy has designed the workshop to give those interested in learning strategies and approaches for taking the GMAT a competitive edge.

“This workshop will allow those interested in pursuing a graduate degree to learn key strategies needed for the GMAT,” said Nichole MacDonald, associate director of MBA programs. “Once they complete the workshop, they have a plan for success.”

Those interested in jumpstarting their GMAT prep are invited to register for the GMAT Strategy Workshop at http://cba.unl.edu/mba/gmat/ by Sept. 30. The registration fee is $125 and includes The Official Guide for GMAT Review 2015 book, continental breakfast and a comprehensive GMAT information packet. If participants already own the book, registration is $90. Lunch is not included.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the College of Business Administration, Room 128. Registrants are encouraged to park in the parking garage at 11th and Q streets and dress in casual attire.

For more information, call the Office of Graduate Programs at 402-472-2338.

“The GMAT workshop provided information on how much studying and preparation is needed to be successful on the actual test,” said Tyrell Ross, previous workshop attendee. “Once you know how to approach certain questions, the amount of time needed to answer specific questions decreases significantly.”

An official score on the GMAT is one of the admissions requirements for the UNL College of Business Administration master’s and doctoral programs, including the Master of Business Administration. The UNL MBA is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in any field and offers ultimate flexibility with on-campus and distance options.

The GMAT is also required for CBA’s two new master’s programs, including the master of arts in business administration and master of arts in business with a specialization in intercollegiate athletics administration.
