Joshua J. Roberts, a 2014 alumnus of the fisheries and wildlife program passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 19 at the age of 27. He was an avid bow hunter and loved fishing and spent endless hours perusing his passion.
Faculty and staff in SNR enjoyed working with Joshua during his time at UNL and remembered him as a thoughtful and kind student.
Larkin Powell remembered, “Joshua was a mild-mannered, level-headed young man who loved the outdoors. He was especially keen to chat with guest professionals that I invited to classes. He was a steady, dependable student with a good work ethic.”
Joshua is survived by his parents; Jim and Jill Roberts of Lincoln, NE, his brother; Justin (Holli), nephews; Curtis and Cooper of St. Joseph, MO, grandparents; Hody Wiese, George (Marla) Roberts of Lincoln, NE, fiancé; Anita O’Neal, multiple loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers; Patricia Wiese, Connie Roberts, and close friend Joshua Markel.
