“The Groundwater Atlas of Saunders County,” a resource for both professionals and the public in making water-related decisions, has been released and is available for sale.
It is the second atlas written by Dana Divine, of the Conservation and Survey Division at the School of Natural Resources, in a series that combines hydrogeologic data not previously published into a single document.
The atlas is available for $14 at the Nebraska Maps and More Store in the first floor of Hardin Hall, 3310 Holdrege St., Lincoln, or online at the UNL Marketplace at http://go.unl.edu/groundwateratlassaunders or amazon.com. Phone orders also are accepted at (402) 472-3471.
Included in the publication are the county’s geologic and hydrogeologic maps and interpretations, as well as a brief discussion of water quality.
The Conservation and Survey Division of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is the agency designated by statute to investigate and interpret the geologically related natural resources of the state, to make available to the public the results of their investigations, and to assist in the development and conservation of these resources. It consists of program areas in geology, water and soils.
