SNR in the News: July 2016

Heat waves and spreading drought kept the School of Natural Resources in the news in July.

The National Drought Mitigation Center was mentioned in the media more than 55 times in July as cities and states looked to the U.S. Drought Monitor in discussing drought conditions spreading and contracting around the country. NU and SNR work in Africa also was featured in several news outlets, and former SNR Director and NDMC Founder Don Wilhite’s retirement made the national news.

That state climate office also was featured prominently during the July heat wave.
