The School of Natural Resources has welcomed several new employees with the start of the spring semester. The following lists are our most recent hires.

Dr. John Benson is our new vertebrate ecologist at the rank of assistant professor. He is officed in 520 Hardin Hall, EC 0995, and will be teaching NRES 386, Vertebrate Zoology this semester with assistance from Hans Otto who taught a similar course at UNO. Dr. Tiffany Messer is our new water quality engineer/scientist at the rank of assistant professor. Her appointment is 85 percent Biological Systems Engineering (60 - research, 25 - teaching); 15 percent SNR (15 teaching). She is officed in 217 Chase Hall, EC 0726; no office in Hardin Hall. Mr. Hans Otto is a temporary lecturer for the spring semester. He is officed in 727 Hardin Hall, EC 0987, and will be working with John Benson. He will be teaching the labs for Vertebrate Zoology. Email: hotto@unomaha.edu (will be changing to UNL email address).

Ms. Kelly Johnson Powell is a temporary lecturer for the spring semester and summer pre-session. She is officed in 721 Hardin Hall, EC 0987, and will be co-teaching NRES 311, Wildlife Ecology Management, and leading the pre-trip meetings for Namibia Study Abroad. She will co-teach NRES 492, Namibia Study Abroad, during the three-week pre-session this summer. Email: kpowell2@unl.edu

Dr. Rebecca (Becky) Young is continuing her appointment as temporary lecturer through the spring semester. She is officed in 607 Hardin Hall, EC 0996, and will be teaching GEOG 155 Sect 250, Physical Geography; co-teaching NRES 477/877, Great Plains Field Pedology; and working with the Soil Judging Team that will be competing in the National Soil Judging Competition in April.
