The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will host a weeklong series of events exploring diversity issues. The Our Nebraska program, previously known as the Empowerment Forum, is March 6-10.
The events, which are designed to help individuals become stronger community leaders, are free and open to students, faculty and staff. Some events include lunch. All Our Nebraska participants will be entered for an opportunity to win a prize on the final day.
The event is co-sponsored by the Diversity Council. This year’s theme is “Empowering Every Story.” Speakers ranging from the founder of Nebraska's Afrikan People’s Union Martha Florence, to Husker football head coach Mike Riley will discuss how life experiences shaped their worldview.
Remaining events this week are:
• Dish It Up! Hosted by Martha Florence -- noon to 2 p.m. March 7, Nebraska Union Regency Suite
• Dish It Up! Hosted by Eric Crump and Sara Gilliam -- noon to 2 p.m. March 8, Law College Auditorium
