Dr. Christopher Laingen, associate professor of geography at Eastern Illinois University, will present "Agricultural Geography and the Corn Belt" at 2 p.m. March 28 in 901 Hardin Hall.

Abstract
This presentation will span some of my geographic interests and research projects over about the last 20 years. It will include work related to rural population change, the evolving agricultural landscape of the Corn Belt, assessing ways of measuring and tracking agricultural land use change, and a discussion of the synergistic web of socio-ecological driving forces of cropping changes in the U.S. Northern Plains.
