This spring, Strive to Thrive Lincoln students decided to award the Center for Legal Immigration Assistance (CLIA) with a grant of $7,500. As one of two grant recipients and one of five finalists, CLIA aims to open doors of equal opportunity by providing quality, affordable immigration-related legal services to immigrants and refugees in Nebraska, ensuring every client has the opportunity to receive a U-Visa. Serving clients from six continents, the organization has helped 300-700 people annually since 2004.

The grant will help CLIA increase their reach through mental health service referrals. As a result, the organization expects to reach 39 more adults and 78 more children who are survivors of domestic violence and connect them with mental health services within the community.
