Faculty luncheon to explore blended and mobile learning

The Office of Online and Distance Education hosts a faculty luncheon, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., April 5 in the Nebraska Union. Scott Winter and Sydney Brown will discuss blended learning, while Fiona Nah will explore mobile learning. RSVP to http://go.unl.edu/fed.

Winter is an assistant professor of news-editorial in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Brown is an instructional design technology specialist with Online and Distance Education Instructional Design and Development. They will discuss current blended learning strategies, including the redesign of Journalism 101, a large-enrollment "blended" course. The discussion will include pedagogical and departmental goals and practical issues of creating blended courses.

Nah, professor of management, will draw from her research into mobile learning. She will highlight implications for classroom teaching, including unique opportunities for mobile technology afforded by the blended classroom.
