Search committee training seminars offered in June

The final Equity, Access and Diversity search process seminars before the fall 2013 semester will be held in June. No seminars will be offered in July and August. Faculty and staff are encouraged to review their search process status before registering for a seminar.

Two types of seminars are offered — orientation and update.

The orientation seminar is 90 minutes and covers the basics of search committee training. Individuals who complete the seminar receive a three-year certification to serve on search committees. Anyone can register for an orientation seminar.

Remaining orientation seminars are 10 a.m. June 14 in the East Union and 2:30 p.m. June 27 in the Nebraska Union.

The update seminar is 60 minutes and is for individuals who have previously completed the training but who have not done so within the last three years. The seminar covers changes in the law and topics that provide committee members the tools needed to deal with current search issues. Individuals who complete this seminar receive a three-year renewal of their search committee certification.

Remaining update seminars are 2 p.m. June 6 and 10 a.m. June 21. Both are in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center.
