'Fiddler on the Roof' plays two shows at Lied

The North American Tour of "Fiddler on the Roof," the Tony Award-winning musical, makes a two-performance stop, Oct. 12-13 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Performances are 7:30 p.m. each day.

Based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, "Fiddler on the Roof" features a rousing score, which includes "Tradition," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "If I Were A Rich Man" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

Premiered on Broadway in 1964, "Fiddler on the Roof" garnered nine Tony Awards and is still an audience favorite. In 1991 and 2004, "Fiddler on the Roof" was revived on Broadway and received Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical (1991) Best Orchestrations (2004) and nominations in 2004 for Best Revival of a Musical and Best Actor.
