Check out these fall classes:

Excel-based FINA 361 - 001
The Department of Finance is excited to offer an accelerated Excel-based version of FINA 361 utilizing the financial modelling software, Wall Street Prep.

Interested students must have a GPA of at least 3.5, as well as meet the prerequisites of MATH 104, ACCT 201, and ECON 215. Please note, the prerequisite for this course are different than the usual FINA 361 prerequisites.

Who should take this course?

- Do you want to enhance your Excel skills?
- Do you want to be more competitive in gaining financial-based internships this summer?
- If you are a finance major, do you want to start finance major courses sooner?
- Do you want an in-person course?

Interested students should apply. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and students will be accepted until the course fills. You will find out whether you are accepted in approximately 2-3 days.

FINA 464: Investors with a Purpose

Through a generous gift from the Doug and Karin Waggoner Family Foundation, the Finance Department is pleased to accept applications for the 3rd class of Investors with Purpose. This program will emphasize non-quantitative aspects of wealth management and will combine theory with speakers from industry.

To apply for this course/program, you must apply (also upload a copy of your transcript and resume) by 5:00 PM, Monday, May 1, 2022. Applications will be taken after May 1, if the course is not full. This application process is on a first come basis. Admission to this course requires a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Class size is limited to 15 – 20 students.

Option 1: Section 001 focuses on franchising, and its proven business model, operational manual, built-in social network, and free business coaching in almost every industry.

Marketing 490 Special Topics: Union Pacific Applied Projects

Challenge yourself and add to your resume. No books or tests required, bring your talent, skills and knowledge.

Union Pacific Railroad (UP) and the Department of Marketing is offering Marketing 490 Special Topics: Union Pacific applied projects class in Fall 2022. You will be working with managers at UP on three different business projects. Your role in this class will be working in teams as consultants to UP on the projects. The projects are judged on a competitive basis with feedback from UP managers. The class is interdisciplinary and open to all majors. The projects will cover different aspects of business.

This class is an opportunity to build your portfolio and experience working with a Fortune 150 company. The course is comparable to an intense internship in which you are working with managers at UP. You can list this on your resume or LinkedIn.

This class is open to students in all majors who have completed Marketing 341. The class will be a 3-credit hour class. Enrollment is limited, and applications must be submitted. Acceptance is based on your academic background, GPA (typically 3.0 or above), work experience, and outside experiences and training. The class will be held on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. in HLH 241.
