Ropke-Wojtyla Fellowship

The Röpke-Wojtyła Fellowship (RWF) educates future Catholic intellectuals and business leaders in the study of the market order and social thought — and in particular Catholic social thought as it compares with more secular scholarship. Throughout the year, the fellows discuss topics in history, philosophy, political economy, politics, and sociology.RWF calls on young Catholics to explore vital questions of social philosophy, such as the makings of a good society, the civilizing aspect of commerce, and the
tensions between markets and community. RWF also encourages the next generation to critically engage intellectual traditions and authors they might not otherwise encounter. In 2022-23 we will pay special tribute to Michael Novak's Spirit of Democratic Capitalism.

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
Fellowships are awarded to outstanding senior level undergraduate students majoring in a variety of disciplines. Students need not attend the Catholic University of America to apply. 2022-2023 Fellows will participate in two virtual colloquia (February 2023 and June 2023), one colloquium in Washington, DC (October 2022), and a week-long pilgrimage to Catholic University's Rome campus (May 2023). At all these gatherings, students are
expected to come prepared to discuss the required readings. At the final colloquium, Fellows will present a piece of original work based on a theme covered throughout the year. RWF is an intense program that requires serious commitment. Fellows who successfully complete the requirements of the program will be awarded a stipend of up to $2,500. Additionally, travel, lodging, and most meals for the colloquia are covered. Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to interact with exceptional and inspiring scholars.
