Principal Real Estate Scholarship

This scholarship is to assist with courses of study that will prepare qualified students to enhance the skills and knowledge to becoming a finance and/or commercial real estate professional. Eligibility will be for students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college/university for the entire upcoming academic year.
Award & Term
• Up to $7,500 per school year ($3,750 for fall semester and $3,750 for spring semester); scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s school.
• Awards shall be made initially for one (1) year. Scholarships may be renewed for a second, third and fourth year so long as criteria continues to be met. Scholarship awards will be applied above and beyond any financial aid and/or additional scholarships.

Required Documentation
• Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.
• Resume
• Personal essay describing how this scholarship would have an impact on your educational path, which may include, but are not limited to:
- involvement with student, work or community organizations
- goals for post-education career
- interest in commercial real estate
Scholarship Process
• All required documentation must be submitted to PrinREIScholarship@principal.com by Friday, June 7th.
• An internal committee will review all candidates’ submissions, and finalists will be asked to participate in a short, informal interview.
• Scholarship recipients will be notified and referred to as Principal Real Estate Scholars.
• Recipient will be asked to verify financial need via U-bill documentation.
Real Estate

Recipient Criteria
1. Recipients shall be a U.S. Citizen OR Permanent Resident.
2. Recipients shall have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
3. Recipients shall be full-time students, and maintain that status during the award period, with the definition of full-time being enrolled with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester or participating in a coop/internship opportunity for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
4. Preference shall be given to students involved and active in leadership roles on and off campus.
5. Preference shall be given to minority students, students with disability and/or veterans.
6. Preference shall be given to students that demonstrate financial need
