When enrolling in college classes, there are several ways courses may be offered. These include online classes, web conferencing, and in-person classes. By knowing the expectations of how each type is led, you will be able to choose which method is best for your learning!

Online (no Zoom)
• In charge of teaching yourself using course materials provided
• Check Canvas often to be aware of due dates for upcoming assignments and quizzes/tests
• Consists of less social interaction with other students
• If assigned to a group project, contact group members ahead of time to prepare
• Allows for increased flexibility in schedule

Web Conferencing (Zoom)
• Many Zoom lectures will be live and attendance is mandatory so make sure you're on time
• Certain professors will record lectures for you to look back on
• Can access Zoom on laptop or mobile phone
• Make sure you have stable internet connection before logging on
• Chance to interact with other students virtually (Example: Can get to know others & share contact info via chat)

In-Person
• Allow enough time for you to leave and arrive to class on time
• Can interact with students and professors face-to-face
• Pay attention during lectures and take notes
• Get to know your classmates and form study groups
• Tour the building your class is in before the semester starts
