Firefly/SAP will support Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11, following a system upgrade on December 15, 2013. It is recommended that the installation of Windows 8.1/ IE 11 be deferred until that time. Firefly will support the Windows 8.1 desktop version only; the “Metro”version will not be supported.
Microsoft will also be releasing a version of IE 11 for Windows 7 and distributing it through automatic updates over the coming weeks. The University expects to support that version of IE as well.
For professional users of the SAP GUI, a patch update must be installed before the GUI can be supported under Windows 8.1. That update is currently being tested and prepared for distribution, so SAP GUI users are advised to not install Windows 8.1 until that patch is available.
