Email retention changing January 21

The University of Nebraska system is applying a new email retention policy for Office 365 email on all campuses.  This policy, which will be implemented at UNL effective January 21, 2014, is approved by the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel. All account holders are being notified, but no immediate action is required on their part.

The policy reads as follows:

Following University of Nebraska requirements, The retention policy will be set to expire items in the Deleted Items folder after 7 days.  Expired items will automatically move to the Recoverable Items folder.

Recoverable Items will expire after 4 days, and will be permanently deleted at that point.
 
Junk Email (e-mail that is in your Junk e-mail folder) will expire after 14 days, and will automatically move to the Recoverable Items folder.
