Users accessing SAP via a Macintosh will need to perform an update procedure to be able to access the application. A problem accessing SAP GUI via the Mac began April 1. The issue totally prevents users from accessing SAP via a Mac.

To fix the issue, SAP has released a new version of the SAP GUI (7.40 release 1).

In order to make this conversion to the new GUI users will need to perform two activities:

1.       Validate the Java applet plug-in is enable and you’ve updated to the latest version (Java 8 Update 40).
2.       Beginning April 2nd, the GUI needs to be updated.

A few important notes about the new release:
·         Firefox is the preferred browser for the SAP MAC GUI interface. Please note, Safari, regardless of the JAVA version, will work for all Firefly’s Employee Self Service interaction.
·         Basic functionality is still the same but you will notice a difference in the icons on this new release.
