from Karlie Gerlach | West Central Research, Extension and Education Center
Meet Carlos De Oliveira Martins, an agronomy and horticulture graduate student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a member of the cropping systems research team at the West Central Research, Extension and Education Center.
Hometown:
Londrina, Parana State, Brazil.
Major:
I am a graduate student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, majoring in Agronomy. My research, under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Cafaro La Menza at the Cropping Systems Lab, focuses on evaluating the effects of cover crops on soil-water dynamics and arthropod communities in a maize–soybean rotation under limited water conditions. My goal is to better understand how cover crops influence soil moisture, irrigation efficiency, and ecological balance in semi-arid cropping systems.
