GZA is seeking a Field Operations Technician at a long-term environmental remediation
project in Omaha, Nebraska. This position will be based in Omaha and report directly to our
Project Manager, located in Massachusetts. A successful candidate will be organized, detail
oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Preference will be given to a
candidate with an applicable engineering, scientific or technical background and a valid
Nebraska Well Monitoring License. This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours
per week with a flexible schedule. Occasionally, additional time will be required.
Job responsibilities include field groundwater monitoring, operation and maintenance of
groundwater extraction systems and equipment, soil vapor sampling, indoor air sampling,
recordkeeping, and other associated tasks. Job-specific, on-site training will be provided. GZA

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform technical execution of projects under the supervision of project managers and
principals
• Perform and/or oversee field investigation and remediation tasks
• Record detailed field notes and other project-related documents.
• General field and office QA/QC responsibilities
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma with at least 10 years relevant work experience or an Advanced
degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline (a geotechnical or geologic degree
is preferred).
• Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform field tasks and activities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An acceptable criminal background check and Nebraska Department of Health &
Human Services Adult & Child Abuse/Neglect Registry is required.
• Valid Nebraska Well Monitoring License or ability to obtain one within 3 months of
employment.
