The University of Nebraska Facilities, Planning & Capital Programs group is looking for an engineering or construction management intern for the Spring 2022 semester. The main task will be to generate an AutoCAD or Civil 3D model of the Nebraska Center for Technical Agriculture. A drone has been use to capture point cloud data of the campus and the intern will work under the supervision of Jack Dohrman (University Space Manager) and closely with Bryce Johnson, PE, (Director of Engineering).

One half day of training is included with additional assistance as required by FP&CP staff. This is the beginning of the process to create a “digital twin” of the campus, buildings, and infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, utilities) for projects currently in the design phase by consultants. The skills in this internship include virtual design for construction, experience with AutoDesk, Civil 3D, Revit, Archibus, and point cloud visualization software. This is also an opportunity to network with design firms, contractors, and NU Facilities staff.
