The NSF S-STEM Watershed Scholars program offers opportunities to Graduate Students specializing in the Watershed Sciences in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, and Environmental Sciences.
Research Opportunities:
Students will receive: Tuition waiver, $10,000 scholarship for each of the two years they are in the program, funding to attend conferences, funding to complete their research and purchase research equipment and tools.
Students will participate in: thesis & research workshops, career panels, scientific and technical seminars, and mentoring from a variety of sources,.
Students will gain skills in: presenting, grant applications, and publishing.
Eligibility and Application Requirements:
Eligible students should have an income of $22,540 or less at program start date.
Scholars must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or admitted refugees.
1. Apply to your program of choice (Biology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Sciences) at SIUE.
2. Submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
3. Submit an application at the link below. Provide a written statement (250-500 words) describing your interest in watershed research and, if applicable, any prior relevant research experience.
Application Due: March 31, 2022 and will be considered on a rolling basis thereafter if funding is available.
