On October 18, three CEE faculty members were recognized for the 2022-2023 excellence in research awards by the College of Engineering. Dr. Aemal Khattak, director of the Mid-American Transportation Center, Dr. Nirupam Aich, Associate Professor, and Dr. Seunghee Kim, Associate Professor were all recognized for their outstanding research performance during the 2022-2023 academic year. Dr. Khattak was awarded a five year renewal of MATC by the US Department of Transportation. Dr. Nirupam Aich was recognized for receiving an 2022 NSF CAREER award as well as other research grants focused on treatment and mitigation of PFAS. Dr. Seunghee Kim was recognized for research funding from US DOE and other entities focused on energy geotechics.
