UMass Dartmouth Hiring: Teaching Professor - Civil & Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEN) in
the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts
Dartmouth invites applications for a Teaching Professor position in structural engineering starting in September 2025.

The successful candidate may teach courses such as mechanics
of materials, structural analysis, construction management,
concrete and steel design and AutoCAD as well as graduate level
courses aimed at practicing professionals in the area of resilient
and sustainable infrastructure. The appointment level will be
made commensurate with experience. This is a 9-month, non
tenure-track position with primary responsibilities for
undergraduate and graduate classroom and online instruction,
undergraduate advising, and university service. Initial
appointment is for two years, with possibility of renewal and
continuous appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have earned a master’s degree in civil
engineering or closely related field at the time of employment,
have experience with teaching at the college level, possess
excellent communication skills, demonstrate a strong
commitment to teaching excellence as well as diversity and
inclusion, and be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time
basis.
