The Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering at Colorado State University invites dynamic and innovative educators to apply for full-time, career line faculty positions within our new common first-year engineering program. These positions are designed to empower students from all engineering disciplines as they embark on their academic journey. Faculty hired through this search will have an affiliated appointment in one of our traditional engineering departments (Mechanical, Electrical and Computer, Chemical and Biological, Biomedical, or Civil and Environmental Engineering), but will primarily teach foundational courses in the first-year curriculum, including courses in engineering fundamentals and engineering for grand challenges.

Instructors in the common experience program will play a critical role in shaping the academic experience for first-year students, fostering a sense of community, and ensuring their early success in engineering. The ideal candidates will bring enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, a passion for innovation in engineering education, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. While the primary responsibility will be teaching in the common first-year program, there will be opportunities to teach other courses in their area of expertise within the affiliated department.

Application due date: December 2, 2024
