Title: The Hidden and Nonlinear Tradeoffs in Search
of Cleaner Mobility
Abstract: With the emergence of various transportation technologies, comes an intricate web of challenges and opportunities in the pursuit of energy efficient and sustainable transportation solutions. This talk investigates the presence of different rebound effects and hidden tradeoffs in the adoption of emerging transportation technologies. Specifically, we will focus on automated vehicles, electric vehicles, and micro-mobility options. The discussion will focus on themes of (i) use-phase life cycle assessment, (ii) emissions modeling, and (iii) human adoption pattern analysis.
