Christian Brothers University seeks a dynamic individual for the role of Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) of Civil Engineering, with an expertise in Environmental and/or Water Resource Engineering.
The new faculty is expected to teach and develop courses in:
-Environmental Engineering
-Fluid Mechanics
-Hydrology and Hydraulics
-Wastewater Management and Treatment (desired)
-Other Engineering service courses as needed, such as Introduction to Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Graphics, and Statics
-Related lab sections (Hydraulics Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab)
Candidates with a secondary background related to Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering who can teach courses such as Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Reactor Design are highly desired.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Maintain teaching excellence in a full teaching load each semester
-Advise civil engineering students and seniors in their projects
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Develop a research program which engages undergraduate civil engineering students
-Serve on school and university committees
-Advise Civil Engineering Student Competitions
-Willingness to develop online course offerings
Job Requirements:
-Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
-Proficiency in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering curricula
-Excellence in teaching ability at the undergraduate level
