Mississippi State University (MSU) is accepting applications for a faculty member where any area of Civil & Environmental Engineering can be considered. The position can be a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice or by a tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor.

The Richard A. Rula School of Civil & Environmental Engineering within the Bagley College of Engineering has multiple-ended opportunities (professorship or chair) for highly qualified candidates. The position is anticipated to be filled in August of 2026.

While any area of civil or environmental engineering can be considered, measurable expertise in one or more of the following areas are of particular interest: asphalt pavement systems, buried or underground structures, concrete bridges, construction materials, structural health monitoring, and trenchless technologies.

The candidate is expected to work with undergraduate and graduate students in and out of the classroom and any tenure track option is also expected to engage students in research that can be published in high quality venues.

Successful candidates will ideally have an earned B.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering from an institution offering ABET-accredited (or equivalent) degrees. Professional and academic experience is highly desirable. Tenure-track candidates should have a potential for sustaining a vigorous externally funded research program and a dynamic portfolio of graduate and undergraduate educational competencies. Preference will be given to candidates with a Professional Engineering license, or who are on track for such licensure.
