The NSF NHERI GSC is a student-run organization supported by the NSF-funded Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI). Our mission is to build a community of graduate researchers and scientists dedicated to advancing natural hazards research, drawing members from institutions across the United States and internationally. NSF NHERI GSC supports members by offering camaraderie, mentorship, and leadership experience. Members also are introduced to the NSF NHERI network’s 12 state-of-the-art facilities across the United States, providing tools and resources to advance natural hazards research.
Additionally, members can participate in the 2026 NSF NHERI GSC Mini-Conference:
A virtual one-day conference that brings together graduate students in the natural hazards field to present ongoing research, while networking and collaborating across disciplines. The event will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026.
You may register to attend until May 14, 2026: https://bit.ly/2026NHERIGSC_Mini-Conference
Our Council General Meetings are held monthly online, every 3rd Friday, at 11:00 a.m. Central Time (US). Graduate students interested in joining may register through our website.
