Title: Design and Construction of a 7 MGD Water Treatment Plant Expansion
Abstract: The City of Blair’s drinking water demands continue to increase. To meet these demands, the City of Blair needed to expand the capacity of their water treatment plant. This expansion, the fifth major expansion since the plant was originally constructed, added a new parallel treatment train and an additional 7 million gallons per day (MGD) of capacity bringing the plant’s total capacity to 27 MGD. Major components of the expansion included a presedimentation basin, softening and recarbonation basins, three filters, a 1 MG Clearwell, and a chemical building. This presentation will detail the design and construction of the Phase V Expansion.
