2022-2023 University of Nebraska–Lincoln parking permits are now available for sale.
These permits are the first in the new virtual permit system for the Lincoln campus. With the new License Plate Recognition, vehicle license plates serve as permit identification. Costs for the new permits are unchanged.

A parking permit is required for any vehicle parked in designated areas of the Lincoln campus. Current permits must be displayed until their expiration date.

Parking permits for students who live on campus coordinate with housing choices.
• Residents who live in a City Campus residence hall, fraternity or sorority must select the appropriate R01, R02, 14R, 17R, 18R or 19R permit.
• East Campus residents must select E permits.
• Commuters who live off-campus can select Area C, D01, D02, 14C, 17C, 19C or SGC permits.

Nine-month License Plate Recognition permits take effect August 15.

To be included in the License Plate Recognition parking permit system, students must register their vehicles online and pay appropriate permit fees. The vehicle is then eligible to park in designated campus areas.

To use the online purchase process, select the area and type of permit you want, choose payment option, and provide vehicle registration information online.

Permit holders for surface lots will not receive any physical permit or sticker to display in the vehicle. Resident permit holders will receive a Permit Event Sticker through campus mail. It must be displayed for campus parking during major campus events, including home football games.

A garage hang tag accompanies each garage parking permit. The hang tag will be mailed to your address provided during purchase. Garage permit hang tags contain RFID which uses radio frequency signals to operate gate readers. Each tag is valid only in the assigned garage.
