Permit hangtags provide access to campus parking garages. Each garage permit is valid only in the assigned garage and valid for one registered vehicle at a time
With the License Plate Recognition Program, your license plate is your garage parking permit. Make sure the license plate is easily visible from the drive lane of the garage.
Garage permit hangtags contains RFID antenna which communicate with the overhead gate readers. The message triggers the garage gates to raise and allow a vehicle to enter or exit the assigned garage,
Display the hangtag from the rearview mirror for best access by the gate readers.
Take any expired campus parking hangtags out of the vehicle. Remove any other RFID permits in the vehicle, including permits for other businesses. Multiple RFID permits create errors in gate operations and prevent the gate from opening.
Each permit provides access to one vehicle in the assigned garage. Readers track entrance and exit cycles for each vehicle. Using the permit for other vehicles creates an error status for your vehicle, gates do not work, and may result in issuance of citation for “Misuse of Permit.”
If you need assistance with vehicle service (flat tire, jump start, tow) do not use your permit to let your vehicle service enter. Push the CALL intercom and follow the Dispatcher’s instructions.
Garages are video monitored and violators can receive tickets.
