Follow simple steps to use campus parking garages

Avoid delays when using a hangtag permit at campus garage entrances by following these steps.

DISPLAY CURRENT HANGTAG CLEARLY ON REARVIEW MIRROR.
Garage permit hangtags contain RFID antenna that communicate with the overhead gate readers. The permit triggers the garage gates to raise and allow a vehicle to enter or exit the assigned garage.
Take any expired campus parking hangtags out of the vehicle. The reader switches between reading your expired permit and your current permit and will not allow the expired permit to raise the gate. Remove any other RFID permits, including permits for other businesses. Multiple RFID permits create errors in gate operations and prevent the gate from opening.

STOP THE VEHICLE BESIDE THE INTERCOM OR TICKET EQUIPMENT when entering or exiting the garage. This position is where the permit reader is aimed and provides the best access for the RFID reader and automatic operation of the gate arms.

Wait for the gate to lift. If your vehicle touches or goes under the gate, you are too close, and the gate may not open. This position makes reading the hangtag signal impossible and gates will not operate.

USE HANGTAG ONLY IN ASSIGNED GARAGE.
Permits are valid only in the assigned garage. If you try to park and pay in a garage that has a different permit, the dispenser and credit will not work properly. Remove your permit from your mirror and put it under your leg to shield the RFID message. Make sure the license plate is easily visible from the drive lane of the garage.

If you need assistance, push the intercom button ONCE.
