Campus parking permits are required for all vehicles parked in designated areas of campus.
Nine-month student parking permits take effect August 19.
With the License Plate Recognition parking permit system, license plate information serves as permit registration.
To order a permit, students must register their vehicles online, select a permit type, and choose a payment option. The vehicle is then eligible to park in designated campus areas.
Parking permits for students who live on campus coordinate with housing choices.
• Residents who live in a City Campus residence hall, fraternity or sorority must select the appropriate R01, R02, 14R, 18R or 19R permit.
• East Campus residents must select E permits.
• Commuters who live off-campus and do not require overnight parking can select Area C, D02, 14C, 17C, or 19C permits.

To use the online purchase process, select the area and type of permit you want, choose payment option, and provide vehicle registration information.

R01, R02 and 19R resident permit holders will receive a Permit Event Sticker through campus mail. It must be displayed for parking during campus events, including high school championships and home football games. It verifies the vehicle has an appropriate permit to park in that area.
With the exception of the 19th and Vine garage, a hang tag accompanies each garage parking permit. Garage permit hang tags contain RFID which uses radio frequency signals to operate gate readers. Each tag is valid only in the assigned garage. The hang tag must be picked up from the Parking and Transit Service office at 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A. Garage permit holders that have a hangtag do not need an event sticker but should display their garage permit for campus event parking.
Commuter permit holders for surface lots will not receive any physical permit to display in the vehicle, but may request a Permit Event Sticker. It verifies License Plate Recognition system participation for parking attendants and must be displayed for parking during major campus events, including high school championships and home football games.
To receive the Permit Event Sticker, use your official UNL email account and send the request to Parking and Transit Services at unlpts@unl.edu
Please indicate if the permit will be picked up at the office or the local Lincoln address to which it should be sent.
