Construction impacts East Campus traffic and parking

A street improvement project will focus on Fair Street on East Campus. The project will be completed in Phases and will impact traffic, buses, access and parking on East Campus. Work begins September 3.

The project will include the replacement of road pavement and sidewalk on the south side of Fair Street. Pavement replacement, and replacement of tunnel lids under the sidewalk at 38th & Fair intersection and crossing Fair west of Plant Science will also occur.

Parking access will be impacted by the closure. Access to the Area A/C, northeast of 37th & Fair will be from 38th Street through the Mussehl Hall parking lot. Access to the Plant Science parking lot will be maintained but from 39th St. and using temporary ramps from the gravel lot. The Meat Lab 15-minute parking spots outside of Animal Science will be temporarily relocated to the parking lot at Mussehl.

The sidewalk on the north side of Fair St. will remain open. However, crossing 38th St. during Phase 1 will need to occur around the construction barriers. Pedestrian traffic should use the west and north side of Mussehl, crossing 38th Street north of the construction site.

During Phase 1, StarTran will be stopping on East Campus Loop at 38th, instead of on 38th, west of Animal Science.
