In response to rising operational and capital expenses, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Parking and Transit Services has announced increases to hourly parking rates and selected citation fees, effective July 1, 2025.
While permit fees will remain unchanged for the upcoming fiscal year, adjustments to hourly parking and citation costs are necessary to ensure the continued upkeep and improvement of parking facilities. Parking permit rates were last increased in FY 2016.
Hourly Parking Rate Changes
Hourly parking rates across campus including mobile app or coin payments for meters, and parking garages will rise by $0.25. Specific changes include:
• City Campus: The hourly rate will increase from $1.25 to $1.50.
• High-demand areas (South Stadium, 13th & R Street, and 16th & W Street): Rates will increase from $1.50 to $1.75 per hour.
• East Campus: The hourly rate will also rise by $0.25.
• Daily Maximum: The maximum daily parking fee in 14PG, 17PG, SDPG, and when using the Passport App will increase from $7.00 to $10.00.
Hourly parking rates were last increased in 2018.

• No Valid Permit: Increasing from $40 to $50
• Failure to Pay on Exit: Increasing from $30 to $50
