If you will not be parking a vehicle on campus next semester: Plan to cancel parking permit

If you will no longer need to park on campus next semester, plan to cancel your parking permit for a refund of the unused coverage time or to stop additional payments. Make the request at the end of the semester, when you will no longer need to park on campus. The permit will be cancelled on the date the email is received. Parking and Transit Services cannot post-date cancellations.

With the virtual permit License Plate Recognition system, to cancel a campus parking permit and stop further payment:
AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER WHEN YOU WILL NO LONGER NEED TO PARK ON CAMPUS
• Send an email from your official UNL email account, including your NUID number, to Parking and Transit Services unlpts@unl.edu
• State that you want to cancel the permit and send message.
For Virtual permits, this completes the process.

For permits with an Event Sticker:

• OR: Bring or mail the Event Sticker to Parking and Transit Services, 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A, Lincoln, NE 68588-0161. If you choose to mail the permit, cancellation will be effective on the postmark date.

If original payment was made with a consolidated student bill, any eligible credit will be posted back to the student consolidated bill. If payment was made for the year in full, via cash or credit/debit card, a check for any refund amount will be mailed within 6 weeks, or a refund may be issued to the credit card that was used for the purchase.
