Hi everyone,
This is it. The final newsletter of the school year. I know you’re really broken up about it.
The end of a school year is always a bit bittersweet to me. It’s nice to be done, but at the same time, I have to say goodbye to so many of you. We may see each other again, we may not. But that’s the nature of this job, I suppose. There’s an episode of Bluey called “Camping,” where Bluey meets another dog, Jean-Luc, and while they cannot speak each other’s language, during the entire episode (which is the camping trip), they play together all day everyday until Bluey wakes up one morning to find Jean-Luc and his family gone. She is understandably upset, and when she expresses frustration and sadness, her mother, the ever-wise Chilli Heeler, says, “Sometimes, special people come in to our lives, stay for a bit, and then they have to go.” At the end of the episode, we see a teenage Bluey at the same campsite, sitting under a tree she and Jean-Luc planted, and all of a sudden, he’s there. So, my special people, perhaps we shall meet again, perhaps not. But I’m proud of you.
Of course, I’ll still be seeing many of you again in the fall. So get your rest, read books, watch movies, go to concerts, listen to music, stir up some good trouble, and tell your people you love them. I’ll see you in August.
Smell ya later,
Dr Lacey
