• March 29: Chiara String Quartet. 7:30 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets: $20 adults/$10 seniors/$5 students, available at the door. For advance ticket sales, contact the Lied Center Box Office at (402) 472-4747. Their program is titled "Beyond Their Years." A celebration of mature younger voices, this program features Mendelssohn's gratifying String Quartet in A minor, Op. 13, written when the composer was only 18 years old, as well as the winner of the 2017 Play with the Chiaras Competition, Cellist Jennifer Son.

• April 1: Nebraska Day of Percussion. All Day. Kimball Hall and Westbrook Music Building. Registration is required.

• April 3: Women's Choir Festival Performance. 7 p.m. Kimball Recital Hall. Free and open to the public.

• April 3-7: MFA Thesis Exhibition I. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. Featuring the work of Larry Buller, Rana Young and Michael Villarreal. A closing reception will be held on Friday, April 7 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

• April 4: Screening of "1984." 5:30 p.m. Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. Free and open to the public. On April 4, 2017, almost 140 art house movie theatres—including The Ross—across the country in 124 cities and in 41 states, plus four locations in Canada, will be participating collectively in a NATIONAL EVENT DAY screening of the 80's movie 1984 in support of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The screening will be followed by a panel discussion about the importance of the NEA and NEH. Panelists include Suzanne Wise, Executive Director of the Nebraska Arts Council; Chris Sommerich, Executive Director of Humanities Nebraska; and Doug Zyblut, Executive Director of Nebraskans for the Arts.

• April 5: Nebraska Young Artist Awards. All day. Various locations. The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts annually recognizes Nebraska high school juniors who are talented in art, music, dance, theatre or film or new media. This is the 20th year for the awards. The awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.

• April 5-9: Theatrix presents "Lungs" by Duncan MacMillan and Directed by Trey Martinez. Performances are April 5-8 at 7:30 p.m. and April 9 at 2 and 4:30 p.m. in the Lab Theatre, 3rd floor of the Temple Building.
