This program is specifically targeted to enroll the entire full time first year cohort of Doctoral students. This program is also open to Doctoral students beyond the first year who have not yet been AERA Members.
The 2018 Doctoral Student Cohort Program includes the following benefits of membership:
• The AERA student membership fee falls from $55 to $25.
• Select a complimentary membership in one of AERA’s 12 Divisions. Additional Division memberships are just $5 each.
• The $7 Special Interest Group (SIG) administrative fee is waived, so that students can sign up for one or more of AERA’s 151 SIGs and pay only the student rate SIG dues.
• Receive complimentary subscriptions to Educational Researcher and one additional top ranked AERA journal of choice. Subscribe to additional AERA journals at the special student rate of $10.
• Take advantage of valuable networking opportunities through Divisions, SIGS, and, in particular, the AERA Graduate Student Council(GSC). Receive the AERA graduate student newsletter, Connections, published three times a year and join the GSC’s listserv.
• Attend AERA Annual Meeting in New York City on April 13-17, 2018 at discounted AERA member graduate student rate. (Early Bird Member Student Registration Fee is $95 compared to Early Bird Non-Member Student Registration Fee of $150.)
New students who are interesting in becoming members can contact the Chair of the their department, or their GSA representative, to get the 2018 Doctoral Student Cohort Program Code. Once they have the code they will go to http://www.aera.net/cohort2018 and insert the code. This will give the students access to a web site that allows them to sign up for membership for 2018 at reduced dues of $25.
The sooner the students sign up, the sooner they can start receiving messages from the Divisions and SIG that they joined, as well as the latest education research news and funding announcements; and receive the 2017 digital versions of the two journals that they will receive by both mail and digitally starting January 1, 2018. Please remind students that this offer is only good for students who are first year doctoral students, joining for the first time.
