TMFD Ph.D. Students Receive Fellowships

Md. Rashaduzzaman, TMFD Ph.D. graduate student currently working under Dr. Jennifer Jorgensen’s supervision has been notified that he’s the recipient of this year's ITAA Marjorie Joseph Fellowship: Outstanding Beginning Doctoral Student Award. This award includes a $1000 stipend. Rashad has been invited to receive the award at the ITAA Annual Conference which will be held on November 14-18, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Florida. This fellowship is named in honor of Marjorie Joseph, former professor at California State University Northridge, author of numerous textile science articles and books, and the first editor of the Clothing and Textiles Research Journal.

Bingnan Mu, TMFD Ph.D. graduate student currently working under Dr. Yiqi Yang's supervision has received a John and Louise Skala Fellowship. The award is made in recognition of his outstanding performance as a graduate student and includes a $5000 stipend. The Skala Fellowships were established to commemorate the lives of the donor’s parents, John and Louise Skala, and is granted annually to full-time graduate students in IANR who are engaged in research for new uses for agricultural products.
