Oct. 12, 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center. The Pilobolus Dance Theatre's main stage presentation will feature a performance by two flying robots developed by Assistant Professor Carrick Detweiler. A campus cross-discipline workshop will discuss the combination of dancers and aerial robot technology.

Pilobolus is an internationally-famed modern dance company based in Connecticut. The company has performed on the Oscars and in 64 countries for over 4 million people. Tonight they will showcase not only their talent, but the talent of UNL students and instructors.

During his time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, CSE assistant professor, Carrick Detweiler, developed a short performance with Pilobolus, titled "Seraph." Detweiler collaborated in a team to create two flying robots to "dance" alongside the Pilobolus artist.

The performance has been brought to Lincoln along with a workshop showcasing more collaborations with student dancers and aerial robots from the computer science and engineering department's Nebraska Intelligent MoBile Unmanned Systems (NIMBUS) Lab. The workshop performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Lied's Johnny Carson Theater before the main performance.

The workshop performances are free and open to the public.
