Nebraska Mathematics Professional Development Series (NMPDS) for 2012-2013

For another school year, there is funding to support K-12 math teachers to gather together and learn how to support their students to learn mathematics through two professional development series: Elementary Math Academy for grades K-6 and Middle/High School Project for grades 7-12. Summer stipend or substitute pay is provided. Optional graduate credit is available. For those needing to travel over 75 miles to a site, lodging support may be requested.

The Elementary Math Academy began in the summer and will continue this fall with meetings in September, October and November. The sites for elementary level are Kearney, Ogallala, Norfolk and Omaha.

The Middle/High School Project kicks off its series on Monday, Sept. 24, during the NATM Conference in Lincoln at The Cornhusker Hotel. The rest of the four meetings will occur in the months of October, November, February and March at the sites of North Platte, Kearney, Norfolk, and Milford, respectively. We encourage any 7-12 math teachers who are not currently involved in the Middle/High school series to register as soon as possible.
