Former COE associate dean Adams to discuss “History of Blacks in STEM” tonight

Stephanie Adams, Ph.D., dean of engineering at Old Dominion University and former College of Engineering faculty member and associate dean, will present “History of Blacks in STEM, Not Hidden Figures” tonight from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Metropolitan Community College Swanson Conference Center. The event is free to the public.

Adams will share her contemporary experiences from her time as a NASA intern and will unveil the history of African Americans who made significant contributions to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. She will also share experiences relating to mentoring and diversifying STEM.
